Program Structure and Outcomes

The Cloud Security Bootcamp is designed to provide a structured learning journey, from foundational cloud knowledge to advanced cybersecurity practices. You’ll graduate with the confidence to secure cloud environments and respond to real-world threats in high-stakes roles.

Foundational Skills (Weeks 1–8)

Students begin by mastering the fundamentals of cloud computing, programming, and database management. Key areas include: • Cloud computing basics, service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and deployment models. • Introduction to programming concepts using Python and JavaScript, including variables, data types, and data structures. • Basic networking principles and cloud-native database services like Amazon RDS and Azure SQL Database. • Preparation for Azure Cloud Fundamentals certification

In the foundation courses, students will learn to understand cloud architectures and how to apply them to real-world scenarios; write and debug basic Python and JavaScript programs; and configure and manage cloud resources for storage and database solutions.

Intermediate Skills (Weeks 9–18)

Building on the foundational skills, learners deepen their understanding of cloud systems and dive into security fundamentals. Key topics include:: • Identity and Access Management (IAM) in AWS and Azure environments. • Cloud-native tools for monitoring, automation, and DevOps troubleshooting. • Incident response, vulnerability management, and governance frameworks. • Preparation for AWS cloud practitioner certification

During these units, Students will develop and implement security protocols, monitor systems, and begin identifying vulnerabilities within cloud-based systems.

Advanced Skills and Capstone Project (Weeks 19–37)

The final phase prepares students for specialized cybersecurity roles, culminating in a hands-on capstone project. Key areas include: • Threat modeling, encryption techniques, and security operations in AWS. • Web, network, and infrastructure hardening using firewalls, IAM, and advanced configurations. • Compliance with industry frameworks (CIS, NIST) and secure system design. • Preparation for AWS Security Certification

As the bootcamp concludes, students will know how to secure entire cloud ecosystems, detect and mitigate attacks, and implement security policies across multi-cloud environments; and complete a capstone project demonstrating your ability to solve a real-world cloud security challenge.
